The 2008 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner and one of the industry’s hottest designers Alexander Wang has collaborated with the company to create something out of the ordinary with the store’s most timeless fabric: khaki.

Patrick Robinson, Head Designer for Gap, Inc., released a statement that the best of both worlds will collide and create some essential pieces with khaki. “He did this incredible motorcycle jacket in khaki that’s going to be under $100.” Robinson stated. “It’s coming out on June 16th, so get ready!”

Wang won’t be doing renditions of the classic white t-shirt, which is odd to ponder over because the day-after slouchy t-shirt is one of Wang’s signature pieces — contributing to his famous “model off-duty” look. But the khaki jacket is sure to squeeze out a few squeals from girls de la mode in the U.S. and possibly worldwide.

I always thought khakis were limited to pants, but in mid-June I will be proven wrong.
